These school holidays on the Central Coast are different to any we’ve experienced before. We know that keeping the kids entertained under these circumstances can be a bit challenging at times so we’ve compiled a list of some of our favourite online activities to share with you. We hope you enjoy our virtual Central Coast experience with your family whilst you keep safe and stay home.

Get wild

Our good friends at the Australian Reptile Park always have something on offer during school holidays and this time is no different. Take a look at their Facebook page or Youtube channel for updates on live streaming of animal feedings and educational videos.

Check out the surf

From the comfort of your lounge of course! If you are missing Terrigal beach, jump on to our surf cam to enjoy views of the sun, surf and sand.

Explore Terrigal!

Discover the ocean

There is something incredibly awe-inspiring about getting up close to a whale and that is an experience Terrigal Ocean Tours are known for. Whilst for now, this isn’t something we can do, the kids will enjoy these videos of whales breaching and playing on their migration past Terrigal as well as the occasional visit from dolphins and turtles.

Join the circus

At times, your lounge room may be starting to feel a bit like a circus so why not give the kids some circus skills they can actually use? Roundabout Circus is the Central Coast’s community circus and they have been sharing free workshops and activities for the kids to get involved with.

Bop till you drop

If they just can’t stop those dancing feet, a great free option is putting on dance videos on Facebook, Youtube or Instagram. Central Coast studio JB Dance are running free online holiday dance workshops on Instagram each day at 4pm https://www.instagram.com/jb_dance/ and we also love this great Covid-19 Express Disco by local Woy Woy South Primary School.

If you really want to get the kids engaged, you can host a virtual disco party with Bop Till You Drop. Starting from $79, this option is especially great for kids celebrating their birthdays at this time.

Free live art lessons

For the bigger kids, Pinot and Picasso are running free live Facebook sessions with step-by-step lessons to follow and recreate paintings. You could discover a hidden talent for art and of course if you feel you need to live up to the name, mum and dad can enjoy their pinot (and peace and quiet) while the kids paint.

Photography and videos

There are many local photographers sharing images they’ve captured on the Central Coast. Some of great scenery can be seen by visiting the Facebook pages of Jim Picot Photography and Andrew Cooney.
