Add a little whale watching adventure to your next escape.
You don’t have to travel far to have a little whale watching adventure. We’ve teamed up with Terrigal Ocean Tours to bring you the Central Coast’s newest wildlife experience – whale watching in winter.
Departing just a short 5 minute walk from the hotel, the one-hour Whale Watch Tour will take you out to see whales breaching and tail slapping in a purpose built Ecotour RIB. The boat seats just 10 passengers so you know you are going to get personalised service and the marine biologist on-board each tour is there to share information about these beautiful creatures and answer any questions you may have. You will also enjoy a few thrills with a high speed run back to the Haven.

Your whale watch tour will be booked for the 11am tour on the day after you arrive however there are additional times available. If this time doesn’t suit you, please contact Terrigal Ocean Tours directly on 0449 999 868 to select a different tour time.
What should I bring on tour?
Sunscreen, sunglasses, a spray jacket and shoes that can get wet are highly recommended. Dress warm, it is always colder on the water.
Where do we meet?
Most tours depart from the Terrigal Haven Boat Ramp, just a short walk from the hotel. Look for the vehicle with the turquoise flags.
What facilities are on board?
It’s an open boat with no bathroom facilities. There are bathrooms at the Terrigal Haven.
Most seats are shaded and we there is drinking water on board.
What happens if the weather is too rough?
Your safety comes first. If conditions are too rough for tours out of Terrigal, the tour may relocate to the calmer waters of Broken Bay. Terrigal Ocean Tours will contact you and give you the option of relocating, rescheduling to another date or a full refund.
What happens if we don’t see a whale?
Whilst there is a very good chance you will see a whale, there is no guarantee. In addition to looking for whales, you will enjoy the scenery and learn from a Marine Biologist about the wildlife likely to be encountered. The area abounds in marine life with whales, dolphins, seals, little penguins and endangered Grey Nurse Sharks frequenting the area. The tour passes the proposed Forrester’s Beach Marine Sanctuary and will provide you with the best information about Terrigal’s unique coastal environment. You will also enjoy a few thrills with a high speed run back to the Haven. All these elements combined mean that you will have a memorable experience even if you don’t manage to see a whale.
